THE A. BOMMARITO WINES STORY
In 1991, after owning and operating two highly-acclaimed restaurants for nearly 40 years, Anthony (Tony) Bommarito left the restaurant business and launched A. Bommarito Wines to better support what he felt was an underserved fine wine market in Missouri. With a focus on sourcing high-quality wines from around the world, Tony built a portfolio that represented the best from every significant wine producing region in the world. This philosophy, and continued focus on quality, resonated with customers across the state and established A. Bommarito Wines as the fine-wine leader in the state.
In 2006, Tony’s son, Tony Jr, joined the company and began working alongside his father. As Tony Sr. stepped away from day-to-day business operations, his son, Tony Jr., succeeded him and now leads the company as it continues to raise the standards for Missouri’s fine-wine patrons. Today, A. Bommarito Wines represents more than 250 wineries and serves more than 1,000 customers across the state.
A. Bommarito Wines still has relationships with some of its original suppliers, but the company continues to be nimble and forward-looking in order to identify emerging regions and up-and-coming producers. The result is a broad, sophisticated portfolio that can meet the needs of a diverse customer base. A. Bommarito Wines also knows that technology plays an important role in providing the highest level of service to its customers, which is why the company continues to invest in proprietary software and systems.
